God created man that He might have fellowship with him. When God created Adam and placed him in the Garden of Eden, Adam walked with God in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). When Adam sinned against God, that fellowship was broken and God no longer walked with Adam. God loved Adam (man) and still desired to fellowship with him, but the sin of man prevented that fellowship.
Jesus Christ is the Saviour of those who receive Him by grace through faith.
God, in His omniscience, knew beforehand that man would sin; so, it was already determined that God would send His Son, Jesus, (1 Peter 1:19-20) to pay the sin debt of the world (John 3:16). Therefore, Jesus Christ is the Saviour of all who receive Him by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), and He is the only One that could reconcile sinful man to the righteous God (Romans 5:10).
Through Jesus Christ, man’s fellowship with God is restored.
The Bible says in 1 Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”. The only begotten Son of God is our advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1). Through Jesus Christ, man’s fellowship with God is restored. Man brought sin into the world and as a result man’s fellowship with God was broken, but Jesus paid for the sin of man and once again made fellowship available to those who call upon the name of the Lord for forgiveness of sin.
