The Key to Glorifying God in Your Daily Life

The Key to Glorifying God in Your Daily Life

Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”  This is a command from the Lord Himself. Not something He suggests and we can either decide to do or not, but something that the Lord wants us, as Christians, to do in obedience to Him.

A dark place can be a dangerous place, because we cannot see the danger that surrounds us.

Jesus said He is the Light of the world in John 8:12. When the Lord created the world, it was in darkness, then the Lord said let there be light and there was light (Genesis 1:3). A dark place can be a dangerous place, because we cannot see the danger that surrounds us. When Jesus walked on the earth, He taught His disciples the Word of God. This prepared them to walk in the light of the Word of God that they may recognize and be prepared to face the sin in the world and receive forgiveness of their sin.

After Jesus was crucified and ascended back into Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit of God to dwell with and in the disciples He left behind and the future disciples to come. Therefore, as Christians today, the Holy Spirit of God dwells within us. Therefore, the light of God dwells within each of us and it is up to each of us to let that light shine forth, be seen by others, that others may glorify God. Are you letting the light of God shine forth in your body? You may say how can I do that. You can do so by living a life that is pleasing to God (by obeying the Word of God) and by sharing the Word of God through your testifying of the saving grace of God or handing out gospel tracts to others.
